The R&D center that Carbures owns as one of the national leaders of the composite materials for the aircraft industry sector
Carbures, spanish company dedicated to the manufacture and processing of composite materials, has started a new business line dedicated to repair composite parts and structures.
Collaboration with Industrial Olmar has been key in this new manufacturing process, which is focuses on the use of an Autoclave manufactured by the Asturian company. Carbures claimed to already have operational technology needed to repair carbon fiber parts, explaining that the process is done « virtually handmade by real experts in managing of composites ». Once repaired, the piece is subjected to a hardening process through the application of a special technology called Sicoteva (similar to an electric blanket which heats and hardens the corrected piece).
This process is located in the R&D center that Carbures owns in El Puerto de Santa María (Cádiz) as one of the national leaders of the composite materials for the aircraft industry sector, classified as Tier2 by Airbus.
